Feel like cancelling your life?

Well, it was a pretty ordinary Tuesday as Tuesdays go. Nothing strange was happening at the office and then I walked past the kitchen. BIG mistake. Suddenly I'm flying of to Hobart in Tasmania to fix a problem with a $50M software rollout that has come off the rails. But, before I can go I have to answer the question "How many IT professionals does it take to get a data projector working" ANSWER: twenty, plus me.
Strange when my objective in life is to make myself redundant so I can go off and do something more interesting. Oh well it is to the airport at sparrows fart in the morning to go to freezing cold Hobart for two days (Hopefully only two days). I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but I don’t like having to go to try and fix a huge problem that I had no part in creating. Well, wish me luck.

How kids see their parents

This is so true it's kind of sad that it can be depicted in 8 squares!

How kids see their parents - Thanks Trevor!

Picnic Day

We are off on a picnic today. We tried to do this last week but the weather was just fowl so we are trying again today. We are meeting up with some friends who run a Kangaroo Sanctuary, down at Berowra Waters. Since we don't own a boat we will have to be content watching everyone else with their's.
We may not actually get as far as a picnic, as there is a great little fish and chip shop down at the marina and I'll probably be lazy and just go buy some chips and stuff. We can still sit on the grass and eat it!

The little man

Alastair is now over 3 months old and changing every day. He has great conversations with himself and keeps himself nicely amused for hours on his mat. We even put him into bed where he'll talk to himself for an hour or so before falling to sleep. It's amazing and very good for mum and dad.
The big news is that he is now on formula full time and there is no more breast feeding. It's not what we wanted but when Mother Nature has had enough, there is no arguing with her. So after his first feed of 150ml of formula, the little man threw up like a trouper and slept like an angel (he had a really full belly).
We have Day Care at the Cottage lined up for him at the start of March two days a week. It seems like a really good place and there are only a maximum of 10 babies per day. He will go there on Friday, to give Mum a day off and then again on Monday when Mum goes back to work at the park. It should be an interesting experience...

The CDs are comming

Well I have finally decided to do something about all the music CD's I have lying around the place and store them on my notebook. I should have done this years ago, but I have had so little time to investigate the best way to do this - nothing has happened.
That was until now - I found iTunes and it is just far too easy. No I don't have an iPod and before I buy one (if I do) I want to know just how much music I have when it is on a computer hard drive. So I've begun the process of importing all my CD's ..... Now this is no small job. It is not that each CD takes a long time or that it takes up too much space on my computer, it's that it is so teadious. All that swapping of disks ! But I am finding a lot of music that I didn't know I had and especially songs on albums that I had forgotten were there.
I have only used 3GB of space so far so there is alot more to go. I'll be here awhile......
